With an interdisciplinary team with a wide range of industry experience, Fred. Olsen 1848 presents floating solutions in wind and solar energy, including the BRUNEL and BRIZO technologies.
In depth with explainers
Fred. Olsen 1848 needed an explainer that explained a part of the technology behind their floating foundation BRUNEL in a visual and explanatory way. More specifically, it shows a developed algorithm that can be implemented in a control system that prevents unwanted rotation around the anchor point of the wind turbine foundation.
The explainer explains how the control system works through sharp and informative animation and shows how it can meet specific challenges that exist for this type of wind turbine foundation. At the same time, the explainer also conveys that the control system is a basis for application to other types of floating foundations.
BRIZO is a floating solar cell technology consisting of a few essential components, which are specially designed to withstand wind and wave loads. To illustrate the technology, two explainers were produced: one explaining the concept and one explaining the components.

A detail-oriented collaboration
From the start Fred. Olsen 1848 had a clear vision for the project. The animated explainers had to appear with the same level of detail and professionalism as Fred. Olsen 1848 put in their work. Therefore, the collaboration was also characterized by close sparring and continuous feedback, so that the animations were as technically accurate as possible.
